Linux EPM Without the Headaches
Managing Linux admin rights shouldn’t mean wrestling with sudoers files, scattered scripts, or agent-heavy tools that slow down your servers and workstations, Admin By Request’s EPM solution handles Linux privilege management from a single portal, with the same just-in-time elevation, approval flows, and reporting your Windows and macOS teams already use.
Built for Linux Security, Not Bolted On
Plenty of vendors treat Linux as an afterthought. We don’t. Our Linux agent integrates with the same management portal as our Windows and macOS agents, so mixed environments don’t mean mixed tooling.
One console. One audit trail. Every supported endpoint protected and accounted for.
How Linux Admin Rights Management Works
The agent runs on each endpoint and intercepts privileged actions. When a user needs elevated access, they request it through the local app or terminal. Depending on your settings, the request is either auto-approved against your policy or sent to an admin for review.
Approvals can come from the web portal, the mobile app, or your existing ticketing tool. Every elevation is logged with the user, command, timestamp, and outcome.
What you can control:
Per-command or per-application elevation
Time-limited admin sessions
User and group-based policies
Pre-approved applications for trusted workflows
Real-time audit and inventory across all endpoints
Full documentation, certifications, and reports are available in our Trust Center (On English Website)

Why Team Choose Our Linux PAM Solution
Lightweight Agent
Under 2MB total, with less than 1% CPU utilization during typical use. So it installs quickly and had minimal resource impact on your servers.
Works Offline
If an endpoint loses connectivity, the agent enforces local policy and supports PIN-code-based elevation. Once it’s back online, audit logs sync to the portal.
Built for linux
Officially supported on Ubuntu 20.4, 22.04, and 24.04 LTS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, and Rocky Linux 9.
One platform
If you’re also running Windows or macOS endpoints, the same portal handles all three. That means one place to deploy, manage and audit policy across your entire fleet.
Native Deployment
The installer is a Python script downloaded from your tenant portal. It uses apt on Debian-based systems and dnf Red Hat-based systems.
25 endpoints free
Full feature access with no trial countdown. Use as a permanent solution for small teams or as a proof of concept before scaling up.
Award Winning Solutions
We provide award-winning SaaS-based solutions to standing admin rights, overloaded helpdesks, outdated remote access infrastructure, malicious downloads, and internet access management.
Frequently Asked Questions
Linux EPM software (endpoint privilege management) replaces permanent root or sudo access with a controlled, audited system for granting administrative rights only when needed. Instead of leaving users in the wheel or sudoers group, EPM tools elevate specific commands or sessions on demand and log every action.
Admin By Request for Linux 4.0 is officially tested and supported on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, and Rocky Linux 9.0.
Yes. Our Free Plan includes 25 endpoints with full feature access, no time limit, and no payment details required. It’s the same product paid plan customers use, just capped at 25 seats.
Sudo handles command elevation but doesn’t give you central policy management, real-time audit logs, approval workflows, or visibility across your fleet. EPM adds those layers on top, which also covers the audit and access control requirements that frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and DORA expect.
You need an endpoint running a supported Linux distribution, administrator privileges (sudo) to run the install, Python 3 (the installer is a Python script), and the tenant-specific installer downloaded from your portal.
